Wow-WEE did we get hit with a storm today; wind, rain, thunder and lightening. Thankfully it was fast-moving and didn't last all that long.
Daisy got a bath today, I studied, went grocery shopping with Ed and now I'm waiting for a polymer clay pendant to come out of the oven. It's very close in style to the "joy" pendant I'm using for my myspace image, and it is a belated birthday present to a friend who expressed liking it a lot.
After that's done I'll probably hang in the living room with Ed and watch some TV.

Peggy's new baby Parotlett
Prehistoric shark teeth hunting today
Okay, I promised to share the pictures with you, so here they are. We did find a few small teeth and interesting bone fragments and such.

Sunday 02-24-08
We just arrived back home after spending the morning at the flea market. I found a like-new, 2-burner hot plate type thingy that I picked up for $15.00, which I'll use for melting embossing powder and other crafty type stuff, and a couple of things for my sister's upcoming birthday (she might read this so I can't reveal what I got).
It's clouding up pretty well right now, but if it doesn't rain Ed and I are going to "panning" for prehistoric shark's teeth (see my myspace blog for our last outing and pictures) and hopefully I'll have some photos to share of what we find later on today. Wish me luck!

Today.
Yes, today is my birthday. I made it another year!
My sister is, as I type this, driving 6-1/2 hours to Virginia to pick up her new baby Parrotlet from a breeder. Therefore, she needed me to drive to Aiken to look after mom and her menagerie of critters for the day. Daisy and I left my home in Charleston at 4:00 a.m., arrived in Aiken at 6:20, and Peggy left around 8:00. I'll most likely be spending the night here, and most of the day alternating between studying and beading when I'm not looking after mom.
It's been raining, thundering and lightening since I arrived, but that's just fine with me. If it were a beautiful sunny day out I'd find it hard to concentrate on studying. LOL

Computer issue update
I did finally gain access to the information on the corrupt hard drive and was able to transfer all the important stuff to the new hard drive. It took me all day, but it was worth it. Yeah for me!
Lunar eclipse pictures
Ed and I were outside during most of the eclipse on 2-20-08. I had my Nikon set up on a tripod, but those are on 35 mm film and yet to be developed, so I've included a few photos below that I took with my old digital camera, in order of occurrence...

Update on computer woes
CHKDSK didn't find anything. I've now got a virus scan running on the corrupt drive via a good hard drive. That should give me at least an hour of time to study while I wait.
I think I'll have lunch first. LOL!

Computer woes...
A few days ago Ed's hard drive went bad. I managed to get it to boot into Windows long enough for him to get some work files and photos off of it, but now it's caught in an endless reboot loop and never quite makes it to the Windows screen. Yes, I tried booting from the Windows CD. Right now I'm having CHKDSK do a fix and we'll see if that resolves the problem.
As I type this CHKDSK has been running for about 40 minutes and is only up to 60% complete. UGH! If this doesn't do the trick we're going to have to give the hard drive to Ed's techie friend to recover what files he can off the thing.
I definetly have a love-hate relationship with computers.
When all this computer stuff is over I'll be studying today for my medical coding/billing/health insurance specialst courses.

Running like a mad-woman
Ever have one of those days where you only have a few things that you HAVE to do, and decide to take your time about doing it, when suddenly something happens and now you have to rush because those few things turned into MANY things? That's my day today. So, I don't have time to blog what I wanted to blog, but after all "tomorrow is another day".
